Game Review: Darksiders Warmastered Edition

Although I had completed the game before getting the Warmastered Edition was something I just had to do. Since the licence moved from the then defunct THQ and Vigil Games was no more it was paramount to show support for the franchise. More to continue the story and get more from the other horsemen

Darksiders was something of a god sent game for me when I first played it. In that low point for Action Adventure games past the time of Prince of Persia and the likes of Assassin's Creed being focused on the real-world with little fantasy, Darksiders felt nostalgic in a way. Even better it was on PC, no more emulators to scratch that itch.

Darksiders is fantasy epic of old in such a way you could feel the influence from Legend of Zelda in the way you would be moved from one second to another. It wasn't ground breaking, it just hit all the right beats with some amazing voice acting, music, art and solid combat. Playing as War, one of the Four Horsemen, feels heavy and mighty with a weight behind every movement. Although overtime the combat can feel a little same old the passing between an arena and puzzle feel really tight and left me wanting to attempt to complete the game in a single sitting as these kind of game do.

If you're after a nostalgic time and looking for a got Action Adventure with a decent post apocalyptic tone this is something you should pick up.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition is available on GOG and Steam
