Current Addiction: AKANE

I love me some pixel art.

I also love a cyberpunk dystopian future setting

Throw in a one hit kill, quick repeat action and this has been my current addiction during my break from the playing WoW.


While the art small amount of art beyond the pixels is not the greatest you may have seen it has it's charm for the setting this game portrays. A gritty dystopian Neo-Tokyo you play as Akane a katana wielding woman making her last stand.

From cutting down your basic Yakuza thug to deflecting bullets into more thugs it got a good amount of tempo to the gameplay. That in mind you will often stop to regard stamina and take some pot shots to keep that combo meter climbing. The only thing you won't see if the guy behind you. So you will die, restart to beat that body count, get that better combo or the next goal to get a new set of gear. 

The game will give you a list of task to complete in any one run such as 30 kills with 100% katana accuracy for example. Or Beat the Boss. Completing these task will unlock gear. From waribles, swords, cigarettes to boots you can eventually find something that will fit just how you want to cut loose against the hoard of Yakuza looking for your head.

All the while the music on offer keeps be in the Just One More Round mode for hours. 

I've had a good deal of fun playing this small indie game and for anyone that enjoys a good arena brawler you can pick this up on special for $2.99USD on Steam until the 18 of  September. Otherwise it will be $3.99. 

Can't ask for a better price for the package.
